In early 2023, while helping friends search for single rooms near Katra and Civil Lines, Praveen and Gautam witnessed how brokers cornered young aspirants. Middlemen demanded up to ₹4,000 as "visiting charges" or "one month advance commission", showing dark rooms with erratic water supplies and misleading terms.

Determined to break this exploitative cycle, Praveen Singh joined forces with software engineer Gautam Kumar Maurya (GKM). Together, they engineered a platform where every listing is direct from the verified landlord, photographed accurately on ground, and available with 0% brokerage forever.
